Hidden Reality

Imagine a beautiful spring morning here in greater Los Angeles area when a sudden flash of light and a tremor sweeps you off your feet and immediately after, everything dies...

As our nation builds more and more effective lethal weapons, so do our enemies. So the question of the hour is, what if a serious enough conflict broke out where American armed forces are forced to used nuclear weapons, and our enemies on us? As the United States strives foreword in the 21st century, so does the need to protect its accomplishments and citizens. The greater our country becomes, the greater the weapons we use to protect it. On the other hand, has the U.S. and for that matter those with nuclear arsenal, surpassed the need to self-protection and overstepped the boundary of nuclear overkill?

The explosion's essence is grand, the way it stretches the air currents and trembles the earth for miles around mesmerizes. Looking at the artifact at work can be described as both magnificent and despicable because of its beauty and destructive power. As many have been ever tested, only two were needed to make history, surrender a country, and worst of all: kill tens of thousands of Japanese civilians. As it can be seen in the picture, as the Japanese stood under the direct kill zone, it was just to much to bear.
On the other hand, if the United States was to bomb a country that would retaliate with three bombs, how would we handle the attack? The fact of the matter is that no one knows where the mass killing would end. Therefore, we must analyse if the repercussions on both people and planet if an event like this actualizes are worth the saying, "talk softly, and carry a big stick."

As weapon's technology advances to create an ultimate killing device, we are putting aside the factor of if one day, for A,B,C or whatever reason, the worst nightmare of America comes true. Let's pretend a conflict breaks out where North Korea, China, and Russia jump in against the United States and its allies. One can almost sure the U.S. will be hit! as we hit them...
For that reason, we as leaders of free world must lead away from, "this weapon is for just in case" and begin moving towards talking with our brothers from other mothers... to unite as human kind because I defenitely don't want to end up as toxic waste!!

  1. That picture is quite powerful, in a terrifying sort of way. I definitely don't want to end up as toxic waste either. We need the reminder of the sheer force of this weapon, which we can forget. This picture helps us to remember.
